How to create a revision quote in JobSheet
When to use a revision quote
Use a revision quote when a customer has accepted a quote and you need a new quote document with updated lines or totals. Examples: extra work agreed on site, price change before invoicing, or a formal re-quote while the same job sheet stays open.
A revision is a new QUO- record linked to the original. It does not replace the accepted quote automatically; you work the new quote through sent → accepted like any other sale.
Before you start
- The original quote must be accepted with a linked job sheet.
- You need permission to create quotes in the workspace.
Steps
- Open Quotes and select the accepted quote.
- On the quote detail screen, choose Create revision quote.
- JobSheet creates a new draft quote titled Revision: … with the same customer and line items copied from the original.
- Edit title, lines, and status as needed, then send the revision to the customer.
- When the customer agrees, set the revision to accepted. Confirm whether you need a new job sheet or continue on the existing linked job (office process).
Tips
- The original accepted quote and its job sheet remain in the record for audit.
- Invoicing still follows workflow step 5. Invoice on the quote you intend to bill from (usually the latest accepted quote for that job).
- If the customer declines the revision, set status to declined; the original accepted quote is unchanged.
